Life & Style are reporting that Brit's BFF Sam Lutfi tried to sell Britney's diaries and other information to an unnamed UK tabloid and Sam has told X17 Xclusively that it's NOT TRUE!

Sam's Story:
The L&S story reports that Sam offered details about Britney's alleged "drug use, lesbian sex, and what happened at the VMAs," but Sam refutes the story 100%, saying,

"I'm not sure what interest people have in putting out lies like this, but if I wanted money for stories about Britney, I could have done it a long time ago. I've given interviews to People Magazine, to Us Weekly, and to X17online and have never received a dime for it. My interest is in getting out the truth about Britney in light of the many false reports that get printed, not in getting paid to betray a friend."

Britney's Story:
And Britney told one of our photographers, when asked about the story:

"I don't even have a diary!"

Something's Fishy:
The L&S report claims that a UK rag was offered Britney's diaries and private emails between Brit and her family for $2 million. Meanwhile, the mag doesn't name the UK tabloid in question, nor do they report having seen any of these supposed emails about which they claim to have details. The "insider" sourced for all of the information in the story is unnamed. And none of the UK tabs are reporting what would supposedly be their own story -- why???

On A Positive Note - Some Big News From Britney!:
But Sam says he and Brit aren't worried about any of this and in fact, earlier this week Sam contacted X17 to organize an auction of some personal items from Britney herself, to put on eBay to raise money for charity. He told me:

"It's something Britney wanted to do to counterbalance all the rumors and negativity in the press -- to do something positive. All she can do is be herself, love her kids, and do small things like this to help people. She's like to donate the money to a children's cause which she'll announce at the time of the auction."
