Will FCC Investigate Rupert's WSJ Buy ???

michaelcopps.jpgI just heard that FCC commissioner Michael Copps is demanding an inquiry into News Corp.'s purchase of The Wall Street Journal.

In a letter to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin today, the Democrat expressed worry that a single company will be in control of a network and 2 of the nation's 5 largest newspapers -- wallstreet2.jpgas well as own 2 newspapers and 2 TV stations in the same top market of New York City, which is way over the limit allowed.

But the FCC has a Republican majority, so Rupert et al seem safe for now.
