PETE DOHERTY WANTED BY POLICE AFTER DEATH AT PARTY

Babyshambles Frontman Trashes Room

Troubled Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty's involvement in the tragic death of actor Mark Blanco has led the police to call for the singer to make a full statement about the events earlier this week.

Conflicting reports have Doherty, 27, leaving the party minutes before the actor's 30-foot fall from the balcony at the home of Doherty's agent, Paul Roundhill, whilst others allege the singer, his agent and Doherty's minder were still present.

It is alleged that the three systematically bullied Mark Blanco, 30, and burnt his hat. At some point a fight broke out and it is said that Mr. Blanco had Doherty pinned up against a wall at one point and prompted Mr. Roundhill to throw the actor out.

In a spine-chilling twist of irony the actor had just won a part in the play 'The Accidental Death of an Anarchist' in which his character falls to his death from the 4th floor of a Milan police station.

Mr Roundhill denies most of the reported events, although admits to burning the actor's hat as a 'distraction' and is quoted as saying: "Pete wasn't involved at all, he was so upset at what happened. There was no fighting, Peter wasn't involved anyway apart from to help and to calm Mark down before the accident. They didn't have an argument. Mark was talking to Peter very excitedly about his play."

Friends of the actor claim that he suffered from vertigo and would not have willingly gone so close to the balcony edge.

At some time either just before or just after the tragic incident Doherty left the party and returned to his £200 a night Malmaison Hotel in Clerkenwell where he proceeded to trash the suite, ripping even the light fittings from the wall. Doherty is alleged to have checked in to the hotel with a mystery woman, said to be definitely not Kate Moss. A spokesman for the hotel said: He's ripped out every wall light fitting, torn down the curtains, smashed every mirror, broken all the lamps, upturned all the furniture and wrecked the telephone and Internet connection sockets.

Whilst it's true to say Pete embodies the Rock & Roll lifestyle perhaps if a judge had not been so lenient on Mr Doherty earlier in the week, choosing not to impose a custodial sentence, then nobody would have been at the party.
