Hunter S. Thompson self-portraitHunter S. Thompson, the late doctor of gonzo journalism, was a clever and fantastically irreverent writer. He lived in his own reality, shaped by booze, drugs, politics, sports, and rock and roll. Fans may be aware that while Thompson's passion was in words, he also loved his photography... and documented a lot of his life in pictures as well as in letters and stories.

M+B Gallery in Los Angeles is having a showing of Thompson's photo work. There are a number of the pieces displayed on their website, and the show will run from Dec 2nd, 2006 through Jan 20th, 2007.

At the same time, a new limited edition book called GONZO will be released, which is a collection of Thompson's photos and scribblings, with a forward by his close friend Johnny Depp.
