Bill Handel, who hosts one of the Southland's highest-rated morning radio shows on KFI-AM (640), engaged in an on-air yelling match today with Jamie White, a host at KYSR-FM (98.7).

Angered over White's off-air comments to his twin preteen daughters, Handel burst into the studio where White was hosting her "Jamie, Jack and Stench" show and shouted on the air: "If you ever talk to my kids like that again, Jamie, I'm going to kick your ass!"

Handel also used an obscenity on the air that violates decency standards of the Federal Communications Commission.

White shouted at Handel to get out of her studio and that he was "nuts."

Apparently, the incident was sparked by White asking Handel's children to leave the KYSR studios, which are housed in the same Burbank office building as Handel's program. Both stations are owned by radio giant Clear Channel.

"I'm going to take the high road," White said on the air after the incident. "I've never been threatened by a man before."

Phone calls to representatives from both radio shows were not immediately returned.
