Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone was officially charged today, March 13, of illegal import of steroids, known as hGH (human growth hormone).
Stallone, 60, was caught on February 16 importing 48 vials of the human growth hormone (HGH) Jintropin into Australia on trip to promote his latest movie "Rocky Balboa".
The vials were first found in his bags during a routine x-ray when he arrived at Sydney airport and then after a raid in his hotel room.
The actor was not present today in the Sydney court room, where he was charged with illegally importing performance and image enhancing drugs. If found guilty, the actor faces a fine of 22,000 Australian dollars.
Jintropin is a human growth hormone (HGH), made by GeneScience. Jintropin works to increase HGH; users experience muscle growth, weight loss, and decreased aging.
"It was just a minor misunderstanding," Stallone told reporters, quoted by Associated Press. "They were just doing their jobs. I just didn't understand some of the rules here."
