More of that good OJ Simpson stuff: NME reports today that Phil Spector’s murder trial might be televised. The Superior Court judge who’s in charge of the case, is quoted saying he firmly believes in allowing the public to witness the trial: “This is a trial of public interest. I always have a problem with commentators telling people what is going on rather than letting the public see the trial for themselves. I’m a firm believer in having the public see it.” The final decision will be given later this month. Get ready for another court room carnival - you know Spector’s good for it.
Spector is accused of killing actress Lana Clarkson, who was found dead in his California mansion in 2003. The legendary producer (the Beatles, The Ramones, Tina Turner) was always known for his mood swings and outbreaks, as well as for his affinity to hand guns. Looks like an easy case? But that’s what you said about O.J. didn’t you? Once you open those courtroom door to the television cameras, everything can happen.
